On this day in 1992, Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album hits Number One on the album chart, where it spends two weeks, knocking Michael Jackson off the top spot. Nevfermind ushered in a change in the musical landscape with a new genre of music called “grunge”… led by two guys from Aberdeen, Wa.; Krist Novoselic and Kurt Cobain… and the rest was history. The album would go on to sell more than 30 million copies worldwide.
